Trying to do two recoveries for a client; a terminated employee’s Exchange mailbox and some company files that the employee was saving on his desktop instead of the corporate server.
This wouldn’t be so bad if it weren’t for the fact that the mailbox was apparently cleaned out and the backup tapes don’t go back that far (by about a week or so). Got one more tape to check, and we’ll see if it’s on there.
The local pc file is just gone. 3 different recovery programs all say that the file, which was apparently over-written by a system32 file, is not in a format that is recognized. If it were one program, I’d say let’s try again. After three programs say the same thing, the client agrees, it’s a lost cause.
