Yet once again I feel the terrible conflict of painful sorrow combined with overwhelming joy. Why are we such creatures of duality? I want to grieve at the loss of some wonderful people, and the pain I feel at their loss is nearly overwhelming.
Yet I know that I should rejoice greatly because their pain and suffering is over. They are now experiencing something beyond our comprehension, a life and delight that’s so fantastic that we can only barely scratch the surface of what it’s like.
I praise my God in my sorrows, and bless His name through the pain, because in the darkness He is the light and hope of the world.
