Yup, life can turn in an instant. If can go from good to bad in a flash, or from bad to good in the same amount of time.
Why? Well, I recently posted that I wasn’t having a good day. Frankly, yesterday I was on pins and needles all day. But thanks to a great vod (brother), I enjoyed a lunch time where I didn’t have to think about anything that would bring up some anxieties. Add to that a somewhat unplanned date with ner riduur (my wife) while getting some errands done, and a strange enjoyment of the somewhat light (and incredibly early) snowfall, and it turned out to be a good night.
This morning, it’s been an incredibly productive day at work, and some of the anxiety that I was having regarding some “negative stressors” was happily and successfully resolved.
I know the Bible says “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life” (Matt 6:25-27). A friend of mine recently lost his job, and his family’s only source of income. But are they worried about what to eat or clothes? Nope, others have anonymously donated so much food and other necessities that they will be well stocked for some time.
I hope I can always lean on God, no matter how much I may worry. Keeping Matt 6:25-27 in my mind will help. Will I worry? Yes, I think that’s just human nature. Will I lean on and trust the Lord. Yup!
