Life from the sidelines

Today was one of those days that just didn’t start like I had expected.  The original plan was to get up and do my 4 mile run today.  Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.  Following up on client work from Friday put the kibosh on getting in a workout.  Fortunately, the client work turned out to be a non-event and nothing to worry about.  And I can do my half marathon long run training day tomorrow morning before church.  Speaking of, tomorrow will be the first day we will get to be back at Crossroads after 2 weeks away on vacation.  So looking forward to seeing our Christian family again.  Been too long since we’ve had time and opportunity to socialize with them.

Today’s been a good foodie day too.  A low calorie breakfast (yes, waffles and bacon can actually be low calorie), and we spent the morning doing food prep for lunch and dinner.  BLT Chicken salad for lunch (again, low calorie), and meatloaf muffins, mashed potatoes and corn on the cob for dinner.  Combine all that with a nice nap this afternoon, time in the pool, and hanging out with the in-laws.  And yes, my in-laws are like me, strange.  Which is one of the reasons I love them.

So why was today a “life from the sidelines” day?  Because despite being active in all this food prep, it’s felt like another vacation day.  And the wife just said dinner’s ready, so time to post this and go continue socializing.
